C. Andyson Colburn has bought the farm owned by the late J. E. Smith. J.R. Smith, Esq. Son of J.E. has reserved the home place and two acres of land adjoining it, which has been in the Smith family since the settlement of the town. We understand Mrs. Sullivan, who cared for Mr. Smith will continue to live there as long as she desires.
Edson L. Hurd moved to the Price building.
Geo. A. Ladd bought the Barrett wheelwright business (now 2002, Lorden storage) Ash street.
Solon Hardy will build an add. To his barn and also have the convenience of a new barn cellar.
Hayden Bros. bought the Bailey Meadow and will construct a large reservoir for their mill privilege. (wheeler Rd.?)

Mrs. L. A. Willoughby sold her cottage to Nathaniel French.
Mrs. Joephine Dow will sell the grass on the farm of the late John A. Dow.

Farm occupied by J. B. Underhill has been purchased by a Mr. Loudger.
A gentleman from Fitchburg has bought the buildings and ???? of the farm lately occupied by Noah Austin on Proctor Hill.

The Clough house, owned by William H. Dean was burned. Mr. Dean has taken up residence at the Poole House on Main St.

2-3-1899 Chas. Richardson is improving his farm and is obliged to have a larger barn, the addition will be 24 ft. making the barn 108 feet in length.
William Gates is making arrangements to build a barn 20x28 feet at hisplace.
Hollis has a Dr. who is bound to get there. During the snow blockade where it was impossible to get through with a sleigh, Dr. hazard was riding to visit his patients on the front runners of A. R. Wilson’s two horse logging sled. (2-17-99)

John Murphy & Co. of Milford will begin Monday to quarry stone for the new church steps.
The stone for the new church steps is being quarried on the John L. Woods farm and is proving to be very good stone.
Pierce Bros. are digging a cellar for a new barn 112x140 feet.
George. Bradley has hired the Vandyke store and will do job work and shoe repairing as before.

Leon R. mass has just had an ice house bult to store necessary ice for his milk business 20x20 ft.
Pierce Bros. have 3 teams hauling timber to Swallow’s (?////0) mill, Dunstable, preparatory to blding a new barn.
James E. Holmes has his new cooper shop completed.
F. F. Lucise is having logs sawed for an addition on his barn.
